STARTING YOUTUBE AND WHAT IT INCLUDES

The Beginning

Have you ever thought to yourself what can I do with my spare time? How can I focus my energy in a positive way? Am I confident enough in front of a camera? Trust me I have had the same thoughts where doubt constantly rears its ugly head; however once my son was born i found a new confidence in myself.

Becoming a parent means having to make clear and thoughtful decisions that not only effect me but my child, therefore self-confidence is important when doing so.

So with my new found confidence and my darling son beside me, i took the leap and started my channel "Its that mum Violet". I will let you guys in on a little secret so make sure to sit tight till the end, you do NOT want to miss out!

Niche

My niche you ask, well the answer is motherhood and relationships with the contribution of other interests. At first I made a snap decision about editing, as it seemed very time consuming and nap time for Ama is anytime. Now there is an enjoyment when editing because of the value added to the video. I can say that 'ummm' is still very much apart of my vocabulary despite the detailed bullet points- I believe it is a natural way of speaking.

Content & Tips

A variety of topics can equal more content but be sure to remember any type of growth takes time. You would think that this is obvious, however when a passion excites you it is easy to forget by rushing ahead. I should know i have done it! Two tips that I can give are to reflect on your first video to clarify if the direction of your channel has been lost or modifications are required. Tip number 2 is to do some background research on topics to provide the best information for the viewers, we all like when people know what they are talking about.

Just know that you are your own person and comparing yourself to others can be harmful because you run the risk of losing confidence and motivation. Disciplining myself has been hard but completely necessary otherwise the content i create could be affected. That is a no no I must carry on, oh another tip is to set goals for the month in order to work towards something specific.

Guys anyone can start a YouTube channel so do not let self-confidence or intimidation stop you. My phone is my camera and expensive items will come later as I grow (I do want to purchase a ring light though). Using daylight can be restricting in terms of filming due to lighting being crucial, can not do it in darkness.

FREE Apps

Canva, INShot, PicsArt and more there are a lot and I mean a lot of free apps. The apps can be utilised to edit your videos and to make thumbnails. They all have great feature which helps when creating a eye catching thumbnail. Remember people see the thumbnail before they see the video, so you want to entice them.

Okay guys! I know my thumbnail is not the best but this was very first one. I sure have taken more time with rest by having a theme. I used INShot I do believe (or was it Photo Editor) to create this one. You can’t deny my son is looking cute!

Secret Time!!!

The secret shall now be revealed my actual name is Pearl, Violet is on of the many middles names. As you can probably tell it is my favourite.
